QUARRIES AND MINERAL EXTRACTION

Mining is the process of extracting buried material below the earth surface. Quarrying refers to extracting materials directly from the surface.

Aggregates account for approximately 85 per cent of the non-energy minerals extracted in the UK and Ireland. The supply of construction aggregates which are extracted from approximately 1,300 quarries in Britain and Ireland is pivotal to the construction Industry.

Neo Environmental have expanded their expertise into this industry and as a result have secured a number of commissions for the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIAs) of numerous quarries in the Republic of Ireland and across the UK. We have also been involved in the full EIA and non-EIA works for extensions to existing quarries in both Ireland and the UK.
