Natural England have issued a new class licence allowing those who are registered to capture and transport otters that have been trapped inside fisheries. It will mean that licence holders won’t have to apply for an individual licence for each otter and will speed up the process of removing otters to a safe location that have become trapped inside fenced fisheries.

Otter are a European Protected Species and are fully protected under Schedule 5 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981.:
