Neo Environmental Director Paul Neary was invite to speak at this Green Power Conference, which  welcomed 70+ bioenergy industry professionals to the inaugural Bioenergy Finance Forum.

This one day bioenergy finance conference focused on financing mid-range (1-100MW) biomass power, waste-to-energy, cogeneration and anaerobic digestion biogas plants with 23 leading industry speakers discussing hot topics such as risk mitigation, feedstock supply contracts and off-take agreements as well as demonstrating a number of financial case studies and participating in an investor panel. Speakers came from all over to Europe to discuss these pertinent issues as did the delegation. Paul presented on the topic of Planning Perspectives and Processes for Bioenergy developments. Rt Hon Dr Vince Cable MP, Secretary of State, Department for Business, Innovation & Skills, presented the keynote address, on behalf of his department’s work with the world’s first Green Investment Bank, in which he discussed the industrial strategy that had been set out in the weeks prior to the conference and how renewable energy was a critical part of it. He also outlined how waste is a priority sector for the Green Investment Bank and that funds were already being committed.
